The review:
If you've played Battlefield 3 there aren't many surprises in store for you with this DLC. DICE have, with Back to Karkand, remade four of the community's favourite maps of all time and re-imagined them with the Frostbite 2 engine. And what a blast it is to fight in the streets of Strike of Karkand, this time with concrete flying around you and buildings collapsing at your feet! Taking off in a Harrier from your teams battleship and hitting the shores of Wake Island feels just right - and while you've seen these maps before - they feel as if they were new.
If you didn't like the way Battlefield 3 plays however, this is no game-changer. These are just some fantastic maps that will bring back your memories of the old days.

There are 10 new weapons in Back to Karkand and these are unlocked through Assignments. Assignments require you to do different tasks when you're on the battlefield - for example the "Spec Ops" Assignment has you kill 20 people with a sniper rifle, as well as laser designating 5 targets. These tasks simple as they may be makes you alter your playstyle for the better and encourages teamwork even further. I've never spent as much time in the MAV as after Back to Karkand, because I had to spot-assist 50 people to get this unlock - and it feels great to do something for your team and still getting your unlocks!

If you for some reason haven't bought Battlefield 3 or Back to Karkand - then go buy it -now-, the maps of this DLC is worth the money alone.
