Battlefield 3 is an amazing and addicting game... with a outstanding multiplayer... but is it as good as other shooters?

User Rating: 9.5 | Battlefield 3 PS3
Imagine yourself.... hiding behind a wooden fence... why are you hiding behind a wooden fence?... because you are... as you are crouched behind this wooden fence, you are anxious, frightened, edgy, alert... looking around frantically... you hear gunfire, explosions, and cries of pain in the distance... destruction and death surround you... at any given moment, incendiary rounds could be sprayed in your general direction... an enemy helicopter flies over your head followed by the sonic boom of a jet that just passed by... a friendly humvee drives by... you watch as it drives into the distance... then you watch it get decimated by a round from an enemy tank... you look over the fence... enemy infantry are advancing on your position... did I mention these are all players?... you get back down, and cock your assault rifle... the decision on what to do... is yours... so can you imagine it... can you?

If you can... then you are in Battlefield 3... where everything is acceptable, and nothing is predictable... in Battlefield you will experience Warfare like no other... the enemy is yours to kill, and you are their's to hunt...

When a friend of yours runs out into an open field and gets hit... lying on the ground... in need of medical assistance... will you help your ally... or will you stay behind cover to protect your own life?

Battlefield is truly a different experience every time when you enter a multiplayer game... with the different styles of gameplay... you will be able to do many different things... You wanna drive that jeep?... take it... you wanna fly that helicopter... you go for it... the choice is yours...

I've been playing Battlefield since "Battlefield 1942"... and have always treasured the fact that you can drive any vehicle at any given time... with ease.

But unlike other Battlefield games... this one has a particular realism that haunts you... when you shoot an enemy they will scream bloody murder... and cry in searing pain... in Battlefield 3 you do not need to shoot someone many times... one good shot usually does the trick... making enemies easier kill.... but that also makes it much easier for you to be killed...

There truly is a sense of panic at times, when enemies unload their assault rifles at you while you are in a small shack, or building... bullets whip past your head, and whistle as they quickly shoot past your ears... chunks of wall will fly... haze and dust from the destruction will fog your screen... and the crushing impact of grenades is both satisfying... and terrifying... depending on what side of the grenade you are on...

Grenades, Missile Launchers, Grenade Launchers... all heavy weapons... when fired into buildings WILL destroy that part of the building... making scenarios where you are inside of a building when all of the sudden the walls come crashing down possible...

Overall you have to play it, to believe it... its one of the greatest shooters there is... because of the freedom... that feeling that YOU and YOU alone must survive, and you are gonna have to make the decisions that are going to make or break you...

Battlefield also has a very interesting Singleplayer Campaign to offer as well.... I don't believe in explaining stories often... but the story is suspenseful, intricate, and surprisingly compelling...

The Graphics are Stellar... you will not find many games that have such detail... puddles of water splash as you step on them... the water's reflection is magnificent... fire, dust, anything... it all looks real...

Let me give you an example... after you read this review... step outside... and look around... then imagine having a gun, and you holding a controller, controlling yourself.... then you are playing Battlefield 3... in the end Battlefield 3 is one of the few games that actually.... LOOKS REAL.

In the end it is a must have... because it is its own game... and there are few games that give off the feeling of warfare like this one does...

PARENTAL ADVISORY

Language is the main problem with this game... the "F" word is shouted every other second, all through the game... and all through the multiplayer game... you can't avoid it, can't miss it... its there... thats just the way it is...

Violence wise... this game is intense.... what it lacks in gore it makes up for in intensity... and grit... you will find yourself in very chaotic and hectic situations 24/7... weapons are EXTREMELY LOUD... and people are dying all the way through.

Blood is very mild... when shot blood might spray... or splash... and occasionally you will find blood puddles emitting from enemies... but overall this game is more violent, than gory, or bloody...

Well thats Arbalon with another review.... hope it helped... read my other ones too! .' )
