Why do people hate the FAMAS?

It is the best assault rifle.
Thats enough reason to hate it for most people.

Well my brother has probably 8 hours in game and the second he used it all he could talk about was how it was like the m16 from mw1.
He still uses it even though he thinks its broken.

why are they other weapons in the game? To fill minisculely small niche roles? pspssshhhh
I don't like the FAMAS because it hurts the game by dumbing it down. ie, oh, you're goal is to get kills as easily as possible? well don't worry about tactics or nothing, just spray FAMAS and get wtf triple kills in 1 second.

I hate it because in short I think it's too easy to use. I don't like guns in fps games that feel too easy to use, because like another poster said I feel it dumbs down the gameplay. Think about if they put laser guns and a god mode ability in, every game would be an endless lightshow with nobody dying because most people will always use the most powerful/easy to use setups even if it ruins the balance for others and just excuse it by saying it's in the game, and sadly they're not entirely wrong the developers should balance things better.

I dont care about people who use it. It doesnt bother me at all. Just because its op doesnt mean you should hate it. Stop hating people you guys need to go do something with your life instead about b***hing about it. FYI I have about 10 kills with the FAMAS im more of a L85 guy.

for the same reason everyone hated the Scar.
it was one of the better assault guns that everyone decided to use, and since its the only thing people seem to get killed by, they claim it as OP and **** and moan until the inevitable nerf or retool.

2. It's well-rounded.
3. It's effective.
4. It's new.
= it's popular.
= it's used often
= people get killed by it more often because of its popularity
= people see it in the kill-cam screen
= less intelligent people associate that with it being OP because they have no sense of logic and reasoning.
= those less intelligent people respawn after seeing they get killed by the FAMAS and run into the same trap, and yet again, blame the gun that killed them.
Personally, I think it reloads too slow, so I chose the M14 models over it.

Same damage as other rifles
Fastest TTK in the game
Lowest vertical recoil of all ARs. Horizontal recoil is almost completely eliminated with the foregrip.
Easiest automatic weapon to use and the best one as well.

Slick-looking? The FAMAS is the most dog ugly gun in the world, it looks like something you make in shop class.
