Hello, I just got another radeon 6970 and already sensing this was a huge mistake (not to mention how long and hard it was to obtain one).

I got this problem with any game, when I enable CF the fps seems higher (according to fraps) but there's this terrible unplayable screen lag, I think it's called screen tearing from all my browsing.. many people on the forums say V-sync solves the problem, well it solves the screen tearing but adds mouse lag and capps the fps at 60 which makes CF useless anyway..

I thought the problem is windows 8, but I just "degraded" back to windows 7 and it's the same problem.

I know my CPU is bottle necking the cards, i'm gonna handle it by overclocking my Intel i5 760 2.8 to 3.8.
But I'm sure it's not what's causing the screen tearing issue.

Any help will be very much appreciated!!!
excuse me for any mispelling, i'm from Israel

V-Sync is done with good reason. Capping FPS to 60 makes logical sense as you won't notice anything higher than that, thus if it's enabled you're just putting extra strain on your GPU(s). Save the over-working past 60FPS for a more stabilized FPS (less FPS drops).

To counter the mouse lag, enable Triple Buffering (not sure if supported from ingame options), if not, hopefully the Catalyst control has this option and you can force it on the game from there.

    Thanks for the reply.

I enabled triple buffering in CCC, It fixed the problem with Deus Ex HR, but didn't help with Battlefield 3.

Does it mean anything if I can max BF 3 without Anti aliasing without problems, and even if i put everything on low with AA then it shutters again??

For some reason when AA and Crossfire meet, it shutters the game.

    Waiting for further assistance, thanks.
