Battlefield 2: Complete Collection Review!

User Rating: 9.5 | Battlefield 2: Complete Collection PC
The Battlefield 2 Complete Collection features the Core Battlefield 2 Game along with its other 3 expansion/booster packs called "Special Forces", "Armored Fury", and "Euro Force". Battlefield 2 (and the rest of its expansion and booster packs) are created by DiCE and published by giant games company EA. Battlefield 2 is simply a sequel to the great Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam series which were amazing and fun to play online. Although DiCE and EA have stated that its minimum specifications are 1.7GHz, 512mb RAM, and 128MB VRAM, you will not be getting any stunning visuals and also may be experiencing "control lagg" which is similar to normal lagg; but in this case it is the slow timing of the reaction from when you press something on the keyboard or the mouse - only to find out that what you just pressed won't take effect until somewhere from 1 second to 20 seconds, even if it was just a simple take-a-step forward arrow key; it sometimes even happens on an offline server that you create yourself. So It is advised (by me) to take up specs higher than the minimum specs printed on the back of the box. But when the Video and Audio Settings are adjusted for a maximum performance, the game is graphically impressive and is detailed all the way down to the armour platings on the heavily armoured tanks and light choppers to the water and scenery. Furthermore, Battlefield 2 is a huge (and make that successful) leap from its predecessors as it offers a whole new vareity of options, unlockable and tactics available for use against your opponents. One of the first difference to the Battlefield series is that, you can now climb ranks which can be raised higher by accumulating in-game points which are earned in a number of different ways: You can either kill an opposing player, revive a downed friendly, capture a flag, bring an opposing flag down to neutral, heal a friendly, inflict 50%+ damage to an enemy personnel, repair a friendly vehicle and many more. This, of course, all takes place on a Ranked Server only, you can only earn points by playing on a Ranked Server otherwise the kills, gameplay time etc. Will not be recorded. Another new addition in Battlefield 2 is that you can now unlock weapons as you climb higher ranks starting from "Lance Corporal" (the third rank), if you have installed the expansion "special forces" you can have additional weapons to unlock and weapons to use that you can't on the core Battlefield 2 (without owning the special forces pack). The maps are now even more enlarged to make flying helicopters and jets more easier as you always had to turn around to avoid being punished by crossing the map border; choppers and plane handling are more improved but a novice player would still need some sort of testing and messing around with before he/she can properlly pilot one. In addition, most vehicles have got secondary functions such as countermeasures or smokescreen, you even now have nightvision and gas masks (on the special forces expansion) which enhances the gamplay in a way. This makes the gameplay of multiplayer ever more fun than before and is probaly what keeps the franchise selling, even to this day with Battlefield 2142 and Battlefield Bad Company. Note that Battlefield 2 is not worth buying if you do not have an internet connection to play on, as it is actually a sort of Source game that requieres at least a 128kbp/s connection to join game servers. Have fun! And Work together as a team on the game!
