1943 takes downloadable games to a new level...
Gameplay-Still the same as Bad Company, but now is only multiplayer, and has only three, unique, classes. What really impressed me is that now every class has infinite ammo, making for no frustration in a gun fight. Also, each class, take for example, infantry, has their own useful melee weapons. There is now a new vehicle, which is the airplane, which can drop bombs, fire machine guns (as well as rear machine guns.) The strategy that has to used is also easily seen, making for great ambush points with C4, or a double helping of rocket launcher on a tank. But the thing that disappoints me is the fact that the game has only 4 maps, and one of them is just an all-out dog fight. But the game reminds you a lot of Modern Warfare 2 because of the +10 for a kill and some extra points for a defense kill, savior kill, avenger kill, and so on. There are many ranks to go up by, since each tier has a bronze-silver-gold ranks before you get to that, desperately needed sergeant tier! Because of this way of progressing, it feels like your actually getting a challenge to go through the ranks. The violence is enough to satisfy any FPS fan, or action fan.
Soundtrack-Now this is the reason it got knocked off .5 points, the soundtrack isn't unique, it's easily remembered from Bad Company, but just slightly edited.
Worth Your Time?-Yes, even worth your money, since you cannot rent it. But yes, it's an excellent and welcome addition to the series and FPS genre. The online battles are epic and highly enjoyable, and you might even laugh when you get killed or do some crazy stunt that ends up with you getting a -10 points. But really, get this game, wether you have a PS3 or a 360, it should be a fine addition to your favorites list.
