Even though Battle Clash is hard as holy hell, it is still a good game, and if you own a Super Scope, go for it!

User Rating: 6.9 | Space Bazooka SNES
Ok, a lot of people really hate Battle Clash, and they have a good reason to: It is hard as holy hell. However, don't let that discourage you, the challenge makes this a great game, it combines hard gameplay with Excellent Graphics and good sound.

Gameplay: The Super Scope controls fine, and the only problem with it is the aiming, which is hard to get used to at first, but once you do, you feel like your aiming the turret of a tank, which is a good feeling.

What makes the Gameplay memorable is the smart A.I. Enemies are great with what they have, and they will use everything but the kitchen sink to crush you and make sure you are just a smoldering ash.

Unfortunatly, there is a poor 2-player mode in the mix, which brings the score down, and there just ain't enough modes in general for a great score. This gives the Gameplay a 6/10 for lack of gameplay modes.

Graphics: This is where Battle Clash shines. The sprites of all the bosses are just about as good as you get on the SNES, the backgrounds, while kinda plain, look increadibly good. There aren't any shot animations (as far as I know), but none are really needed.

Because of the exellence of the sprites, this gets that 10/10 every game strives for. The only improvement possible in graphics for Battle Clash would be blur effects, but SNES's aren't powerful enough for that.

Sound: A weak point for Battle Clash, the sound FX in this game is quite weak. There is a decent hit effect heard when you succesfully have an attack connect with an enemy, but other than that, you have very little sounds in the game, and what sounds there are are pretty bad. However, the music makes up for it. The music in the intro is amongst the best throught gaming intros, and battle music has been nearly mastered in the game. Unfortunately, it is too quiet for 5/5.

Thanks to the extremely poor sound FX, the sound gets an overall 6/10.

You should buy this if you want a challenge and own a Super Scope, other-wise, skip this.
