Clichéd action storyline, but just makes it more fun to play.

Battle Clash is one of the better SNES games I've played in a while. There's something about it that just reeks of fun. It is about a young man named Mike who plans to destroy the evil Anubis as means of revenge for killing his father. He operates a mech (or standing tank as they are called in the game) and must battle all of Anubis' henchmen in one on one battles in order to get to him and finish his mission.

Graphics:
The graphics in this game are nicely done I would say. It could be because they are obviously inspired by anime and I am a fan. The backgrounds are nice and colourful, but also detailed. The Standing Tanks themselves look great, and look different enough from each other to be interesting. When a character talks, the player sees a portrait of the character in typical anime-game fashion. I like them a lot.

Sound:
The soundtrack is exciting and really adds to the game, with suiting music to giant robot battles. As usual the sound effects for the movement and weapons are the sort of thing you would expect, but they are also somehow vibrant and attention catching.

Gameplay:
As previously mentioned, the game is staged similarly to a beat-'em-up game like Street Fighter II. Each level you face an opponent who you defeat to advance to the next stage. In the game, you co-pilot the Standing Tank with the protagonist of the story, Mike. He controls the movement, and you control the weapons. Each enemy has a weak point you must exploit to defeat them, and you have various weapons to use. The generic weapon is a machine gun; this doesn't do much damage however and it mostly used for dismissing enemy fire. If you let the machine gun charge however, it becomes a stronger single shot weapon, which you must hit the weak point with. There is also a single use bomb weapon to use in times of need. The bomb is replaced every mission. There are also other weapons you may find, but telling what they do may spoil the fun! One thing I probably should've mentioned at the start is that this is a superscope game, i.e. you need the superscope to play it. That is why you do not control the movement: you only need to aim the huge peripheral at the screen and shoot away!

Lastability:
I personally found this game to be easy enough to win without getting too frustrated. With practice aiming, it shouldn't be too hard to finish.

Overview:
Graphics - Very nice looking game, with well-detailed characters and awesome scenarios.
Sound - Great soundtrack provides more emphasis on the action, making it even better to play.
Gameplay - Nice selection of weapons, and good setup of the game. Super scope needed to play however.
Lastability - Some people find these games hard. If you are one of these people then it will take a while. If not, then it shouldn't take much practice to beat.
