Um it was ok I guess. Remember though, ok is not good or great.

User Rating: 5 | Battle Blaze SNES
Battle Blaze is a beat-'em-up on the SNES. There is a tiny bit more plot to it than other games of the genre. It is the time of the year for a contest: The Contest of Champions, where warriors from around the world compete to see who is the strongest. However, a demon from the underworld wants to take over the human world, so sends spirits to possess each of the warriors. One warrior notices what is happening and fights the spirit, succeeding, but only with the price of his life. His son, Kerrel, decides to avenge his father and enters the contest in his place with a mission to defeat the other enslaved warriors and then defeat the demon himself.

Of course, that is all just back story. You wouldn't really know it if you were playing the game, haha.

Graphics:
The graphics in this game are mediocre. The character design is interesting for some of the characters, particularly the character that can turn into a beast. Other than that though, the characters are pretty much clichéd fantasy world people: slow man with a sword, fast woman with knives, and an orc with a morning-star. Oh well. The graphics themselves are alright, but look a little warped and muddy. They are nowhere as detailed as other similar games. The same can be said for the bleak bare backgrounds the fights take place in.

Sound:
The sound is average at best. There is the usual fantasy style music in the background, combined with swings and chops and the occasional grunt. Nothing all that impressive at all.

Gameplay:
Hmm, well this is quite boring too. When playing through the story mode, you can only choose one character. This also happens to be the most generic bare-chested man with long hair and a sword ever. His moves are equally as boring. They consist of cutting, and thrusting. Not exactly that fun considering the enemies can do much more, like morphing and long-range attacks. The game is also quite short, especially if you take advantage of the silly enemy AI. I don't know what else I can say in this bit.

Lastability:
Despite Kerrel's limited moves the game is pretty easy, and as previously mentioned, short. There are only 5 fights in story mode and the enemies don't seem to get any harder as you progress. Shouldn't take too long to finish.

Overview:
Graphics: Average, but not bad.
Sound: Uneventful and boring.
Gameplay: Dull moves, stupid AI, and simple fights.
Lastability: Quite easy, won't take long.
