Ugh no real effort made at all. Or at least I hope so. That way I won't upset the people responsible if they're reading.

User Rating: 5.5 | Batman Forever SNES
Batman Forever is loosely based on the movie of the same name. The story is that Two-Face and the Riddler are on a crime spree and Batman must stop them. The story may be more complex, but the game doesn't let on.

Graphics:
The graphics look straight out of Mortal Kombat. It is almost as if someone had taken the engine and placed it in a platformer format. The familiar health bars are there, as well as the 'photo-realistic' characters. Of course they also look MK smeary and blurred. They do their job well enough however, and you can tell the difference between Batman, and the enemies. The enemies themselves don't change too much during the game. There are a few different types, and they just change colour in typical scrolling beat-'em-up fashion as the game progresses. The backgrounds are fairly good too. Each level looks somewhat recognisable: stone looks like stone, metal like metal etc. Some backgrounds can be strangely bare though. There are small cutscenes between levels explaining the mission to be carried out. The graphics here are pretty much appalling and shouldn't have been included.

Sound:
Umm, to be honest I don't remember much sound. There were your occasional biffs and baffs as you punch and throw the enemies about (or vice-versa). If there was music it must've been uninspired and boring, because I don't remember it.

Gameplay:
The worst part of the game. Too many controls, with stupid combinations on how to use items. To be honest, although there were quite a few gadgets available in the game, I didn't use them because it was tricky and time-consuming to do so. The game was quite slow too, with Batman crawling around like he has been dipped in cement. Again there were plenty of different kicks available, by pressing various button combinations, but most were useless and I found enemies would be tackled with a mix of roundhouse kicks, uppercuts and sweeps. Batman's slow movements combined with the almost constant pouring of enemies into the area wherever you moved made this game harder than other examples of the genre.

Lastability:
This game is pretty hard. It will take you a long time if you have the patience to persevere with it. Seeing the ending, it wasn't really worth it, but oh well.

Overview:
Graphics - Not bad, but boring and bleak in some places.
Sound - Pretty much non-existent. Boring and dull.
Gameplay - Tedious button combinations and slow movements make this game irritating.
Lastability - Pretty hard. Will take a while to finish.
