So, Arkham Asylum (AA) was a fantastic game, hands down one of the best i have played. Then after anxiously awaiting, Arkham City (AC) releases. I jump to midnight release to pick it up, unbox the collector edition, place my statue on the table and unleash the game. pop it in the Xbox, and away we go.
Right form the get go I am thrown into a Cat-woman sequence. short simple to the point, then i become Bruce Wayne. after a short time i get the bat suit and begin my adventure to its fullest.
I love the inter weaved storyline of cat-woman and batman side by side. that was an excellent touch. AA had many riddler trophy's and riddles but left it at that. AC expands on it with 440 trophies and when you get a certain number of them you can unlock mini games (hostage rescues) puzzles. I loved that expansion. I feel like i am truly a powerful detective the has to do the prelim work and then catch the bad guy, in this case the riddler. the storyline is phenomenal in my opinion. it moves nicely from place to place, and when i wanted to stop in between segments and search for bonus items to level up my gadgets, i was able to do so flawlessly. Currently i am still on my 1st play through but have clocked in probably around 25 hours. I am taking my time in finding the trophy's and riddles as well as doing side quests to the fullest before End game. let alone it is just plain fun to find a large group of thugs and beat them silly.
Overall I love this game. it is not often that i get a game and do not put it down to start anything else until i beat it fully, I have Assassins creed waiting to the side until i finish B:AC fully.
This is a definite buy for those that are on the fence about it. Good work on this title.
