If Arkham City is 5x the size of Asylum, how small is Asylum?

I've played through Arkham City twice, never played Arkham Asylum. If AC is really 5x larger, does that make AA the size of...the Industrial District+Steel Mill?

It's not that small. I suppose more confined and not as open world would be more accurate. arkham island is broken down into area's like arkham west, arkham north, arkham east and each area has buildings, like the penitentiary, the medical centre and arkham manor etc. It doesn't feel as big because there's no cape flying, side quests and less riddler trophies and fewer predator rooms and combat challenges. I still think about 20-25 hours worth all in.

Arkham Asylum takes place mostly indoors. There are five or six indoor areas (depending on how you look at it), and three small and insignificant outdoor areas.

The action is more compacted in space than in Arkham City. Arkham City has a lot of empty space to roam, where nothing too important ever happens.

Arkham Asylum uses and re-uses each area fully, with events happening in every area - usually multiple events per area.

Arkham City also has a bunch of side quests. There are no side quests in Arkham Asylum other than the riddler collectibles, and there are less than half as many of those as there are in Arkham City.
