295.73 WHQL: Updates PhysX System Software to 9.12.0209 for improved compatibility with Alice: Madness Returns and Batman: Arkham City.
I found the Physx effects quite lacking (even on high settings) compared to Arkham Asylum. For example: no more kicking piles of paper, not much physx in the overworld etc.
Does the new driver change any of that or does it only increase performance? I cant check right now sorry.

I'm downloading to check. Personally, though, I'm just hoping for an increase in performance. Because my performance was awful (to me). It was annoying enough I could play the game on my PC, but I did get it free so that's good.
But if it downloads before someone else lets you know, I'll let you know myself.

Well, No longer does PhysX drop into the teens or 20s. It ht a low of 31 for me on normal PhysX setting. I still get a constant 60fps in Arkham Asylum though. So, hoorah, we gained 5 fps!

Wait, I had SLI off. Now I get a whopping 28FPS!! Nothing has changed at all. Still an utterly pathetic performance after many months. Even with all settings on low, i get the same performance as when i have all settings maxed. What an utter joke.

Dont listen to joefatty. I have 1 single gtx 570 . Now i can enable physx to high with the newest drivers....i had to play with physx normal before them...so yes, these definatly have improved physx technology.

Dont listen to me, why exactly? I have the exact same performance as I've always gotten in this game. Different people may get different results, like with anything. However, you didn't even state your FPS on High and Normal settings with and without the new PhysX software.
I mean, "Now i can enable physx to high with the newest drivers....i had to play with physx normal before them...so yes, these definatly have improved physx technology."
As if you couldn't physically enable High PhysX before this update? You gave worthless information because you failed to specify how this update makes anything better or how much better. So, please, inform us on the details.

I just tell what i experienced with these drivers. I am getting a lot better fps with physx when i downloaded these drivers...then what i got with the older ones. Is that so hard to understand?

and yeah , my bad. I probably did not tell it so clearly..but im basically getting 5-7 fps more with these drivers...and that kinda imporvement you notice with ur eyes...well done nvidia.

I wonder what my benchmark will be like now, then.
Because I always started in the upper 50s, and this is with two 580s, and ended up in the uppers 40s (about 48-49).
I'd be interested to see if I get a better framerate now, and I'd be interested to see if the game, overall, runs smoother. Because I swear it wasn't smooth before at all. In the court house at the start of the game, the framerate and jerkiness of it all was terrible.

Oook.
So, I got better performance on the benchmark before the new drivers, than I do with them.
But, I swear the game, in-game, runs a lot smoother. The court house felt a lot better, anyway.
I could probably do with turning down AA a bit, but honestly, even when I did that last time, it never helped. The difference was minimal.
This game confuses the hell out of me performance wise.

So the perfomance does increase a little. That is at least something.
Feb 22, 2012 6:05 pm GMT
I haven't benchmarked anything, but the performance seems better.

I've gotten a huge performance boost with my 560ti. Used to drop into the 30s and now I'm getting consistent 50-60fps.
