So far I have went to many sites and read many reviews. All of which claim there is a problem with textures on Wii U and with frame rate being low and jumpy. I took a chance and purchased Batman for Wii U despite these negative reviews and I am so happy I did! I have been playing this game for about 2 hours now and so far I have not noticed any of the issues review sites are complaining about. I can only wonder if they intentionally gave the Wii U version a bad review. So far the frame rates have been fast and silky smooth. The graphics have been top notch and the use of the Wii U tablet controller is really good. All in all I must say that I am glad I went ahead and purchased this game for the Wii U console as it surpasses the XBOX, and PS3 version on all fronts. I currently own a PS3 so I am not just another Nintendo fan boy with a biased opinion. I played it on PS3 and I am enjoying the Wii U version much better.

I currently have the Zombie U deluxe bundle edition (32 gig). It came with Wii U Pro Game pad, charging dock for tablet, Zombie U, and Nintendo Land for 398.99. I also have a 120 gig external hard drive hooked up to my Wii U so I don't have to worry about space.

Now with all this being said I must also acknowledge a few things that could contribute to the negative reviews......

1. This game was a release title and since then Nintendo has released a few updates to their console that might have addressed the issues some reviewers claim to have had at launch.

2. I never had to update my console because the Zombie U bundle deluxe version came with the current system update and was release just this week. So I already had the latest update when I was playing Batman.

3. If you go to Nintendo store and have a 8gig system you can't even purchase the game because the 8 gig does not have enough free space.. They require a 8 gig Wii U to have a external hard drive hooked up to console cause the download is 20 gig.

4. Perhaps the Wii U 8 gig suffers the problems and the 32 gig version does not. Reason for this would be most games require a certain amount of hard drive space to use as cache memory while playing and the 8 gig version might not have enough resulting in the issues I never experienced with my 32 gig version....

Either way, don't listen to the reviews and buy this game like I did and you won't be disappointing at all!

@mumrahh1 doesn't really seem worth the purchase if I bought it for another console or PC already... and for those who haven't, the new additions/abilities are just slapped on and don't really help create a better experience. There's no reason to buy this edition when the 360/PS3/PC versions are already floating around at $20.

This game deserves a better score!! It has everything the ps3 and xbox360 versions have including a new look for batman and cat women.. lets not forget new features that may appeal and may not appeal to some but most, on top of that Arkham City is Great!!

8.5? Not sure. I mean just how many games, as good as Batman: Arkham City, are available now for the Wii U. The B.A.T. may not be the best addition ever, but the gameplay (and the story, and the voice acting, and the enviroment, and the extra content, and everything else that is good in this game) is as good as ever so I think it deserved a 9.0 as well.

@avatarIVN  You have to consider that this game is the GOTY edition of a 2011 game with a few tacked on features that do nothing significant to improve gameplay, plus the fact that it is $60 while the PS3/360 version of GOTY edition retails at $40 and even less on PC. Great game still, but not the best version nor the best deal out there, hence the minimal downgrade in the score.

What about the frame-rate issues?

Carolyn, is this new armor edition making the game worst, I mean that the original game has a score of 9 and this one of 8.5.

I'm conflicted with knocking the B.A.T. addition. I guess it could make things "too easy", but that's more of a minor gripe, seeing how most of the game revolves around stealth, exploration, nostalgia, godly voice actors, so on and so forth. It's understandable, but...eh...

"There's no reason to buy access to this version, if You have others." Why? I did not receive an answer. Okay, she did mention, that B.A.T. and sonar does not make any sense... What about the controlls? Are there any touch screen options controlling main characters or just button smashing? What about flying with the batarang? Do they make use of the second screen on the gaming pad?

As I see, this was half a review from the game for other consoles and only half for the Wii U, since I am still having a lot of questions unanswered...

This B.A.T looks like something out of a Joel Schumacher movie.

I don't really see how you can knock B.A.T., considering it's an optional feature.

@JustPlainLucas You can't turn it off. It's optional in the sense that doing Mike Haggar's special move in Final Fight is optional. You can use it or not use it, but you always know you can rely on it in the heat of battle; you always know you can activate it if things aren't going your way. It's part of the fabric of the game, and as such, is, I think, something that can and *should* be evaluated as part of what Armored Edition is.

@carolynmichelle  It looks terrible. Is it possible to remove the skin (if not the gameplay) and use one of the classic skins available?

JustPlainLucas
JustPlainLucas

@carolynmichelle Yes, but that's up to the gamer.  If people love continuing to rack up 30 and 40 and 50 hit combos, they aren't going to use B.A.T.  For other people out there who may not be as good, B.A.T. will be a blessing.

@Gelugon_baat  @JustPlainLucas I think it'd be a handy feature to use against more annoying enemies such as stun sticks, armour and shield enemies because they just break the nice flow the combat has when you accidentally go towards them and get hit by whatever they have

@carolynmichelle  What about the loading time? I saw Kevin VanOrd saying that Darksiders II and Mass Effect 3 have longer loading times in the Wii U than in other consoles. Batman have the same issue?
