Arkham Asylum is a great action game experience, given you have the patience and time to play it.

User Rating: 7.5 | Batman: Arkham Asylum X360
After the smash hit The Dark Knight hit theaters last July, people have been wondering what the entertainment world will do with the Caped Crusader next. I was actually quite suprised that the video game industry decided to hop to it first. I'll start this review with the obvious: I give it a 7.5.

The storyline starts w/ Batman bringing the crazed Joker (who is voiced by Mark Hamill, which is really weird) to Arkham Asylum. Then, quite predictably, the Joker escapes and traps all the hostages in the asylum, to be killed by his ruthless thugs. That is, unless Batman has something to do about it. All in all, the storyline is just fair.

The graphics seem like they are glitchy, but boy, are the character models impressive. Batman really looks intimidating, unlike Wolverine in that origins video game. Overall the graphics are very good.

The gameplay is bittersweet. When you are fighting, it's great, but when your just trying to find your way around, the shoddy camera angle gets in the way and this will probably frustrate you, like it did me. The gameplay may be a bit tedious, but it is certainly passable.

There is no multiplayer, but the extras are extremely good, no doubt. Throughout the storyline, you pick up Riddler trophies, which unlock secret levels that you can play after your done with the story, or during the story.

Overall, I think fans of Batman should definitely want to check this out, and fareweather fans to. But those who are not exactly pumped that the Dark Knight can finally be played as, should stay away.
