The much hyped sequel to the 1998 classic Banjo Kazooie is here Banjo Tooie, but is it bigger and better than the original? The answer is yes. Banjo Tooie shatters Banjo Kazooie in almost every single way and this is a game for the ages that deserves to be in the company of such games as Ocranina of Time and Goldeneye.
What is the biggest difference in gameplay? You can now control Mumbo who helps you with his magic powers and can even bring people back from the dead, there is also a new a girl called Wumba who takes over Mumbos role in Banjo Kazooie turning you into different creatures in exchange for a magical creature called a Glowbo. You can play anything from a T-Rex to my personal favorite a Washing Machine(DON'T LAUGH!!!!). In all good spirits this game is light hearted fun that doesn't take itself too seriously and you will meet a lot of memorable and hillarious characters along the way. After playing through this game there is no surprise that Rare in the following 12 months released a little game by the name of "CONKERS BAD FUR DAY".
The graphics are jaw dropping keeping in mind it doesn't require the expansion pak which still blows my mind to this day. The only poblem is you get the ocassional slow down and the frame rate from time drops dramatically in open spaces.
The soundtrack is a treat with a lot of strange and twisted sounds that only the mad geniuses at Rare were capable of back in their prime. This is one sountrack you won't forget and will be remembered for decades to come.
Most surprisingly Banjo Tooie has a multiplayer mode now which games this game an edge over Banjo Kazooie and gives the game a much larger life span and also gives you the biggest bang for your buck. The story mode will take you around 40-50 hours with another 20-30 on top if you want to complete it 100%.
Banjo Tooie is the type of game you will be telling your grandkids and historians will be taking notes from for years to come. If you are looking for inspiration or want to experience one of the great priviledges in life. You cannot go past with Banjo Tooie.
