Great game, but definitely not perfect.

User Rating: 8 | Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge GBA
OK so I used to love the Banjo series on the N64. They're still among my top favorite games. So, when I saw that they made another game on the GBA, I had to buy it! I mean, its a great series, and then they just made it portable! How awesome! Anyway, here's the review.

STORY: The story is pretty basic, and there are still sharp-tongued dialogue from good ol' Kazooie, as well as some clever jokes, so thats a good thing. Apparently it happens between the first and second Banjo games, and Grunty goes back in time to stop Banjo and Kazooie from meeting. So, Banjo goes back to the past to clear things up. You end up meeting younger versions and relatives of characters from the original two games because of this. 7/10

GAMEPLAY: The game itself is actually fun, once you get the hang of things. All the controls are smooth, and things are all good. Well except for a few things. The game is viewed from a 3/4 overview perspective. If you don't know what that means, think of Zelda A Link to the Past or Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga's perspective. However, that also means that platform jumping can get annoying sometimes if you're at high place. Also, it can be tricky to find certain places in the game. I remember that I used to hate this game because I couldn't find where to find the Wonderwing move. This was because there was a section I had missed that was quite hidden unless you looked carefully. It is also very easy to die in this game, though thankfully if you do, you just restart at wherever you died at. The levels in the game are pretty well-designed, if not a little small. And as always, you can transform in the game using Mumbo Jumbo. 8/10

GRAPHICS: The graphics in the game are solid, and do a really good job in trying to mimic the 3D graphics of its N64 cousins. These re probably some of the best graphics on the GBA, or any 16-bit console for that matter! 10/10

MUSIC: The game's music is pretty good, though some of the tunes can get a little annoying, but thats very minor. As for the sound effects, there are some top-notch sounds that seem like they came from the N64 or a home console, and there are some very annoying sounds like when Banjo or the Jiggy Wiggy guy talks. 7/10

All in all, this a pretty good game, and really fun, if not a little easy and short. It certainly isn't perfect, but is by no means a bad title. Comparing it to the near-perfect N64 games would be like comparing Metroid Prime to Metroid Prime Hunters. However, you should give it a try.
