A suprisingly addictive game with a simple and unique idea.

Balloon Fight is well exactly what the title says a fight with balloons strapped to your back. The simple idea behind this game is that you fly about popping your enemy's balloons by conking their head while avoiding having your own deflated. Now that sounds pretty boring to be doing over and over but each level is different with new enemy's (well they look the same but faster and with different coloured ballons) and more obstacles to smash into. The controls are easy to pick up it's A to flap and go higher and the D-Pad to steer, simple no? Futhermore to mix it up there are these storm clouds that shoot lightning bolts that when you touch you die instantly. It's a cleverly desinged game to make it easy to play with a little tactical thinking and also with little fiendish quirks to keep you on your toes. Then there's the Balloon Trip mode this little mini-game will have you using the basic control mechanism to fly around popping balloons to increase your score and dodging lightning bolts and it's fun to see how far you go before you completely fluff it and die. This game is simple, addictive,entertaining and just plain fun a real gem of the NES.
