User Rating: 10 | Balloon Fight NES

Balloon Fight is a NES game created by Nintendo which has been seen on numerous consoles such as NES, Wii, 3DS, Wii U and the Game and Watch console. The game has 3 modes: Single Player, 2 Player and Balloon Trip. In Single Player, you control a person called Balloon Man, and you have to pop the enemy's balloons before they pop your own balloons. the scores for popping the balloons can range from approximately 500-1000 points. You have to be careful as the enemy have back-up parachutes which can be used to keep themselves in the area. When you pop the parachutes, then they are out of the game and a bubble will appear. These bubbles get you an extra 500 points so make sure to get them.

The stage level design is set up of multiple platforms, thunderclouds which set off when a Phase is taking too long and the Flipper item which makes a later release in Super Smash Bros Melee. The stage design can be a bit repetitive, which does not show that much creativity, but it was an Arcade game so I can give it the benefit of the doubt.

The 2 Player mode is the same thing as 1-Player but with an extra player who can either help or hinder you.

The Balloon Trip mode is a well-known mode as the music has been used in certain games like the Smash Bros series and the mode itself has been re-released on consoles such as WarioWare: Smooth Moves where the Balloon Trip mode appeared as an unlockable mini-game. In this mode, it tests how far you can stay flying on the balloons as you avoid obstacles like electric and the Fish that pops up in the water. I love this mode as it is addicting and fun to play.

Overall, this is one of my favourite NES games of all time along with the Super Mario Bros games, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Ice Climbers because of the replayability and the addicting arcade action of this NES game and I highly recommend this game for anyone who loves a typical arcade game.
