Baldur's Gate User Review
This is the game that proved that RPGs could transfer to the PC not only sucessfully but actually improved. Addictive, compulsive, involving, affecting and challenging doesn't even begin to describe how this game sucked me in and didn't let go.
Compared with the 3D graphics and flexibility of the Neverwinter Nights camera system those in BG do look dated now but if you've never played a CRPG then this is the place you have to start. An epic plot with engaging characters it's not to be missed. Follow it up with the expansion and Baldur's Gate 2 and you'll have hundreds of hours of RPG bliss. Finished the game solo (?) then play with a friend and add a new dimension to the experience. It's worth buying an old rig just to be able to play the BG series co-op.
I loved it so much I'd happily let it steal my life again.
