The storyline in Drakan: the Ancients Gates is about a warrior women named Rynn and her Drakan Arokh who have been called to be sent on a quest. Jassad and his desert lords are trying to take over the civilization of the world known as Drakan. The desert lords are very powerful when it comes to magic. So it is up to Rynn and Arokh to defeat the forces of Jassad and restore the gateways to awaken the mother dragon. In Drakan: The Ancients Gates you will travel the lands. You will be sent on missions that have to be completed and optional quests for extra money. Buying equiptment such as weapons' armor' and potions would be wise as you progress through the game. As you level up you can add skill points to your abilities.(Tip: armor and weapons will take damage so make sure to repair them.) These abilities are Melee' Ranged' and Magic. You can aquire new spells that will help you in your quest which have numerous effects. As you can probably tell if you have played the game' the landscapes are pretty big so you should probably take Arokh on a ride for quicker transportation. Arokh can aquire new abilities just like Rynn can. Since Rynn can only really stand a chance against ground enemies you should leave Arokh the job of eliminating any air enemies that come towards you. Drakan: the Ancients Gates isn't the longest game around but with all of the side quests' large landscapes to explore' weapons to collect' and spells to learn' this game should last you a while. This is a decent fantasy action game. The game is pretty old for a PS2 game but if you can accept that then you should be able to appreciate this game if you like fantasy action games.
