A good but somewhat safe sequel of Dark Alliance.

User Rating: 8.4 | Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II PS2
Dark Alliance II is an action RPG in which you kill lots of monsters and pick up a lot of loot. It contains the exact same gameplay of DA1 but offers a longer quest, the ability to upgrade/customize weapons and armor & more characters to play.

The graphics are the same as DA1 which were pretty good back when it was released and they still do the job today. The details in the levels is excellent and everything is still beautiful to look at.

The audio hasn't changed as well. The sound and music are both excellent and this game contains a lot of nice voice-overs from the NPCs you'll meet on your quest.

The gameplay is still the same as DA1 but now you get the ability to add rubys and diamonds to your weapon and armor in a place called the Workshop. This will add different attribute to your gear and is a nice addition. The changes you make are not permanent you can fool around until you get the exact effect that you need. This game contains 5 characters to play, 2 more than DA1. I wish this game would of had online play but the CO-Op is still present which is nice. One of the problem of this game is that it's too easy compared to the first one. At least the quest was a little longer and should offer the average gamer 12 to 15 hrs of game time. In DA1 you could pull off simple 2 to 3 hit combos with your weapon... in DA2 it's always the same attack animation. Swing-Swing-Swing... it wasn't as satisfying. The latter parts of the game feels extremely rushed.. the final dungeon is extremely short compared to DA1 which doesn't make any sense. (People who played DA1 will know what I'm talking about)

In conclusion, DA2 is still a very good game and worthy of the Baldur's Gate name.
