Surprisingly Fun!

User Rating: 7.5 | Backyard Baseball PS2
When I got Backyard Baseball I wasn't expecting to much out of this game, I was wrong. It supplied me with hours of fun. When you get the game your going to hate the controls until you get used to them in about 30 minutes or so. Other than that the game isn't all that bad except for being a little too easy at times and the graphics need an upgrade. I forgot to mention the horrendous commentary, it's not funny and phrases are repeated over and over again. The hitting system is simple and fun, you pick what kind of hit you want (power, line drive, bunt, and grounder) and press X to swing. The pitching goes on the same system where you choose your pitch (fastball, curveball screwball, and the change up) aim and throw. Another fun feature is the numerous number of power ups for hitting and pitching there are to many so I'll stop from going into detail. The last thing is that players run so slow if you hit a ball way back to the fence in the gap you'll barely make a double and if you get lucky and they throw the ball around a triple. So the game has flaws but its still a solid all around game of baseball.
