Nice try, and there's hope for more next year. But patches should help the experience some if/when they come.

Hey repeat after me:

This is not Madden football.

This is not Madden football.

You will have to re-wire your brain (you do have one right?) a bit to get an understanding of how Backbreaker works. Once you do, you'll find the fun there is to be had in this game.

No, it's not the greatest football video game ever, but it shows a lot of promise.

When you first get into the game, you may find that the game-play is a little fickle, and the camera angle is a big obstacle to get around (remember, THIS AIN'T MADDEN). All I can say is: STICK WITH IT!

Playing defense is fun, but can get a bit confusing if you go into button mashing spasms. Honestly, breath, calm down, and don't jam on the FOCUS button so quickly or for so long. You might improve your play a bit.

Okay, PASSING IS A BEAR! No lie, you will throw picks, and get sacked. But with a better line, and QB, you may see some improvement if you calm down, and move around the pocket a little bit before you throw.

There is some buzz about a patch coming to fix some things, and hopefully this will fix some things.

But the BOTTOM LINE:

Is this game worth your $50 & change? Well, if I had paid $20 for it, I'd be happy. So RENT Backbreaker and give it a look-see.

IS THIS A MADDEN KILLER?
Nope.

But if Madden had this physics engine....
