Good on paper, the place where it should of stayed on.

User Rating: 6 | Azurik: Rise of Perathia XBOX
Azurik: rise of Perathia was one of the launch titles for the xbox and from the start it goes all out in presentation, great cover, great graphics with barely any load times, high resoloutoin models and big open levels...boring but big. The theme of the game and overall story too is also well done but if everything sounds so good then why have i rated this title so low?

well the problem lies with the core of every game, gameply. put simply this part is incredibly boring! fighting enemies is boring as the staff you use all the time is again boring and the combos and spells, the game's main drawpoint are so convulated you will strain to figure out a simple spell. A real shame considering the possibilitys that could of been. The whole game is at a high level except the gameplay which really is that bad, never more then 3 enemies on screen, incredibly easy, boring drawn out fights and long boring levels to explore.

the system used is similair to nightcastor in that theres fire, water, light and dark but also adds wind and life in there to help confuse even more, you must use certain spells (achieved in different parts of the game) to further press on but by that time you will either be bored senseless or have already left.

to be fair once you get past this hurdle the game turns out magribnally better but still noone should have to be put through hell to recieve the good part of the game when you have forked out hard earned money.

Azurik is a perfectly good rental title, 3 days and you would have seen all of it and hopefully wont want to see it again.
