Axelay is a really cool game. The music has the regular fly to the boss beat then kicks it up a notch when you get to it. There a few weapons and few stages. The replay value is also low. The graphics are really impressive, the ship and enemies have really good detail and the stages. The game has two modes of flight, from the bottom of the screen to top, this makes the ship look a little bulky. The other mode has the ship moving from left to right. The ship looks and plays like Gradius (Snes version). The boss start of fairly easy to bead on normal, the stages remain the same and can be a little tricky to fly through. Overall a must have for the Super Nintendo.
