Your Two Bucks Goes Farther With Aura-Aura Climber!
GAMEPLAY: The gameplay in Aura-Aura is really fun and addictive. You play as a crash-landed star, and your goal is to make it to the top of the stage with your handy grapple arm. (Just don't ask why he only has one) Everything is controlled via D-Pad and action buttons, and it works great once you get the hang of it. You might be thinking why doesn't it use touch controls, and while that is a good idea, you'll realize that some far-off asteroids are on the top screen and therefore you wouldn't be able to get to it if it had touch controls. If that made any sense.
And, to make things more fun, not only is there a ten-part campaign mode, there is also a survival mode where you get to see how far up you can make it before getting hit 3 times or the time runs out. Plus, for completionists, there's also 30 medals/awards to collect, each being either found in a stage or achieving a certain feat.
GRAPHICS: While they seem simple at first, you'll soon realize just how much work was put into this cheap and amazing title in terms of graphics. The sprite animations are smooth, and the beautiful, layered background moves down as Aura-Aura moves up. Its really stunning when you see the sunset or the forest floor at the bottom for the first time.
MUSIC: The music isn't quite as good as the visuals and gameplay, but it does the job and it really is quite charming.
This is the best way to spend 2 bucks. Period. So next time you find yourself with only 200 points on your DSi Account, make sure you pick this up. You won't regret it.
