It's that time of year that the olympics come ( but my review is being done nearly 10 month's after athens ) . We can only have this great moment in history , every 4 years . But it seems the developer's rushed it so it could have come in time for the olympics debut . Because in true honesty this game isn't good . Let's start off with the music in this game . Well it'a well ... boring . They use this classical music theme for the game which blend's well , because of the whole olympic competision , but for me it made me sleep though it all . When the announcers talked was the worst part of the the whole sound desing . You can't even hear them , they talk like if the were had a cat stuck in their mouth . I do like the crowds when they chant in a race , but then again how hard could it be to do that in a game ? Not that hard right , but it's still is good . The graphics after the music is the worst part . Who in names hell thought these graphics looked cool , when they tested it out after the developing process ? The characters look like they just came out from surgery . The bodies dont look that imressive . I excepected athelte's bodies to be in shape and they look like the have an egg stuck on thier knee . The enviornment's look ok , not as good as they should look but still ok . There are increadible amount of glitches in this game that drag you out of the exceperience . Although the game has these problems the water effects when you are in the " swimming competions " actually look very nice . The game itself is based well in the olympics , sure you may play like track and feild , but why can't I play tennis ? Sure tennis , basketball , and other "cool sports " dont acctually add up to the points of the countrie division in the olympics , they do play tennis and basketball in the olympics so why not put it ? You do have all the tradicional competision like gymnastics and track and field and much more , but there are other that I would have loved see in this game . Also this is one of the best multiplayer games on the ps2 . It's really fun to play this game . But there is no online in this game so you will be bored after awhile . I only found one game that I acctually like and that bored me alot . The whole button matching thing that you have to do with alot of parts of the game gets repetivive and just not fun to play after awhile . Athens is a game that just feels incomplete . Rent it , dont buy it .
