Astro is a great game for die-hard fan. However if you get it for some other reason, you'll probably be disappointed.

Before you all PM me asking "Are you an Astro Boy fan?" No, I am not. Not that Astro Boy is bad, it' just that I bought the game because it was made by Sonic Team and published by Sega. And let me say, this game is not their best work.
First off the graphics are sub-par. They are late-Playstation/mid-Dreamcast
quality graphics not worth the PS2's time and power. The animations are stupid. And why does Astro Boy punch the ground when you press square?
The audio is better, but not by much. There are some sound effects that sound like they belong in an old Warner Bros. cartoon. The actual quality is good, but how it sounds to the ear is not so good. And as a final note on the audio you know about that tune in the intro? You like it? Good. Because you are gonna hear it all the time throughout the whole entire game. The gameplay(the most important factor) is kinda wishy-washy. The control scheme sucks nickels.
The camera sucks even when you're able the control it. And the boss battles come down to 1 of 2 stradegies. 1. Rush foward and beat the hell outte the boss. Or 2. Stay back and use your Arm Cannon. On the other hand it can be pretty fun t hurl cars and other things at enemies. It also can be pretty fun to blow away enemy robots 3 times your size. If this was made back in the Playstaion/N64 era it'd be one of the best games available.
Overall, if you want an Astro Boy game, get the GBA's Astro Boy: Omega Factor.
If you want a Sega/Sonic Team game, get a Sonic the Hedgehog game. If you already have all of the Sonic the Hedgehog game and just wanna try something else the developers have made, give Astro Boy a try.
