Outdated, unresponsive and lacking some stakes

No other way to put it than AC Valhalla is really not up to scratch for a AAA game.

To its credit the game visually looks fantastic, even though it's being heavily throttled on last-gen consoles. There's a lot of tightening up in terms of geography making the game world a little less overly vast but with still plenty to do.

I also like the gender fluid option of the entire game, that it doesn't particularly matter to the overall narrative at all making it a great representation with something new to the meta.

The gameplay however is pretty unresponsive, when compared to the AC Origins/Odyssey who's gameplay and controls are definitely more fluid and visuals matching the quality of a game that succeeds them by some years.

There's frustrating bugs that glitch you out of combat or off the planet entirely. The difficulty throttling is also ridiculous, with laughable wins when you reach certain power levels and borderline impossibly unwinnable combat when you're even a couple points below. The worst offender being the constant 'revenge quests' that allow you to avenge fallen players on the Ubisoft server, which you can't turn off and will barrage you with notification after notification until they're done or you move to the other side of the map.

The game design and play also just seems outdated, it's not anything truly new to the franchise other than a demo for the new gen.
