they should went straight into 3 from AC2...i didnt buy Brotherhood or Revelations because they were too much like AC2...this looks interesting though, will keep an eye on it.

Danny and Johnny take you through a pixel-by-pixel tour of the Assassin's Creed III reveal trailer.
great job!! I like this american period of history,, the 1700s nice nature ,, great adventure ,, better than the horrible Ottoman period,, you know,, constantinopole B( in a short way,, Great Job UBISOFT,, can't wait
Tell me you don't mean America invented slavery...because that would be foolish. Also, slavery was in America for a long time before the Revolution, seeing as the British brought a lot of slaves over.
my favorite part is when its says americans will either be free men or slaves. but then we started slavery after the war. der der.
@mikees1, But... It's a game. They can throw in whatever random big buildings they want. And they'll make it interesting too. I'd climb a big barn if they made it fun.
@Darth-Ozy No, fortunately i have something called knowledge of the time period and location of the 13 colonise to form my opinion from also.
@mikees1, You know all that from one trailer?? You've got some outstanding intuition if I say so myself. Which I do.
evil_devil_mons Thats what makes this game NOT good for me.A young united states, with no buildings of any height to climb, just trees and..........nothing! Boring. Victorian London would have been the one id have gone for, il be giving this one a miss. to boring and landscape repetitive for me thanks.
Common :) It dosnt meter the assassin`s origin. The point is to stop some third party that stay behind all this and try to conquer the world or somethink like that :) And other think - can be connected whit Desmond. Its 1777 - almost 300 years after Revelations so its like 3-4 generations. But my opinion that he is brand new charectar. Easy way to confirm - there is no scar on his mouth characteristic for the other 3 persons - Altair, Ezio and Desmond. At least i didnt saw. Srr for my bad grammar :)
wow wow wow. i really can;t wait to play this one man.. its f**kin awesome.. love it. & this time in the great USA. the game sounds really interesting.. i want it right now
@DreadfulGlory But... This game does follow real facts. The developers have said it themselves that they won't be changing history. The general flow of the game is going to be historical.
@calanorn sorry, did i say THE reason, it was one OF the reasons, my bad. But you must admit it was a major contributing factor in many of the battles.
The game is not suppose to follow real facts, or even showcase American Nationalism. It is an entertaining game, that is all.
@Darth-Ozy I see where you're coming from, but you needn't worry. I have enough faith in Ubisoft to know they wouldn't ruin the portrayel of their stories for the sake of National pride. Besides, the Ubisoft who markets AC is stationed in France and the developers are in Montreal. It's kind of like Deus Ex. People thought Human Revolution was made by Square Enix and was a more Japanese traditional game. It also made people worried since Japan isn't used to making Western titles. Luckily it was made in Montreal as well, and worked out as an amazing game non-the less. I wouldn't expect too much Americanism in the game. Think MGS, a game centered almost entirely around America and it's politics, yet it was smart enough not to fall into the trap of "Pro-Americanised" patriotism.
@medellon Already do. I also help write a couple of successful web comic series. It's a neat little hobby. I'd recommend it to anyone with a creative mind. Unfortunately I can't recommend that to you. I mean hell, your spelling says it all.
@dxBIGBOSSxb, I'm not saying I'm not going to like it because it is set in America. I love the idea, I am an American and like many have said, this time period is not extensively portrayed in video games. I won't like it if they set up Americans as all knowing or all powerful or can do no wrong. Anything similar to that would be garbage. It would suck if they did anything similar to the British. Both sides should be presented fairly and equitably in a manner that is both human and realistic.
bigboss the fourms are not a place for people to read your bad writing go to a blog if you want to post your stuff
@cjf187x It'll be very interesting how this game works out to say thew least. I'm not going to lie though, this trailer and the screen shots gave me some serious Deja Vu to Skyrim about 4 months ago. Luckily, that's a good thing. I was wondering if I could hunt in this game or not. Just imagine it: *Out in the snowy woods. Connor Spots a dear. Using his skills as an Assassin and a Native he creeps silently upon the deer. He notices it's startled behavior. Cautious, Connor pulls down his bow. He locks the arrow and bends back the string. Suddenly, a mistake! Connor snaps a twig beneath his feet. The deer runs, and runs very fast. Connor follows, the arrow pulled back all the way still. He hops, rock by rock, stone by stone, log by log. The Deer crosses river, and Connor has no choice, he must make the shot or he will lose his prey. Connor fires his bow, deep into the Deer's heart. There he stands, holding up his hidden blade, granting the dieing Buck a swift, and painless death. He carves out the heart, and prays. He thanks his fortune, and carries the fur and meat to be sold. But he keeps the heart, in hopes the spirit of this beast may live on and grant strength within himself. He vanishes in the snowy woods. New prey awaits. The prey of man.* I hope to be a writer some day. I'll admit this passage is half-a**ed, but Connor being a Native American would make far more sense in context.
didnt like the main story about how america got its freedom because its not that long to make a game and i dont see it in assassin's creed. to me it does not fit. thats what i think
@dxBIGBOSSxb "Last of the Mohicans" is a great movie. Being from Upstate NY and going to college downstate, it'll be interesting to see what Ubisoft does with NY and the ton of open space and wooded areas that make up NYS. It would be nice, seeing how the protagonist has a bow, if Ubisoft could incorporate that into the strategy of picking off enemies, which could cause chaos and demoralization of the nearby regiment. Additionally, I noticed that the main character will also be of British-Mohawk descent. In all likelihood, this "Connor" in this time period would not have existed, and more than likely he would have been the result of a French-Mohawk relationship as the Mohawks had extensive relations with French traders and fought against the US during the Revolutionary War...IMO, the protagonist should've been Native American...but I digress.
If you look closely at around 4:00 mark, his robe or whatever looks a bit like a uniform of american revolutionaries: blue colour, then it looks like he's wearing a vest under it, buttons on the bottom in the back - all fragments of the uniform. Can't wait for the game!
I'm looking for a MAJOR improvement in this game over the previous. The same engine has been used for 4 Assassin's Creed games and I am extremely excited for a new engine. This is going to be the giant leap forward in the series that we've all been hoping for.
@Darth-Ozy Ugh, please don't disapprove the game JSUT because it's set in America. Noone had a problem with AC1's portrayel during the crusades, and don't say it would be fair to kill the Colonials, because the story specifically states WHY the Creed aided the colonies, and if you think it's being too pro-American of them, the Assassins are behind the Russian Revolution and Vladamir Lenin was a member. Please, it makes sense to the story, plus I've rarely seen any game portrayal America's colonial era outside of Empire:Total War (Which was a buggy POS), and very few low-budget RTS'. The same kind of goes for the French Revolution, but the story states the Assassins had very little to do with that... in fact they had almost no part in it. They fled when they realized the Templar used the same strategy as they do when starting revolutions and gained the peasant's and the poor's support.
@HuSSaR83 Good movie, but I can also see some "Last of the Mohicans", and a bit of "Indiana Jones" coming from this trailer. I really hope they have a whip in this game.
I was a bit hesitent as first about this game but the running through the trees semi tarzan style is pretty cool and very native american which is supposedly his origin. I like the idea of the assassin tomahawk as well, granted if it were not in that shape it and it was in the shape of one from the multiplayer I would be very disappointed. Love to see what small tweaks they are going to make; like the hookblade was kind of small but revolutionized assassin's creed in minor ways that just made all the difference. I would really love to see some more silent, native american stealth. For example it was said that the iriquois could run across dry leaves without making a sound, that type of thing. And finally, really? You're sourcing wikipedia? That's pretty bad, I mean you could do history channel at least. None the less the change is still a really big jump.
@splinter10: Well, the French Revolution is after the American Revolution, so you may get your wish yet. Personally, I would be enthralledd to have the next AC take place in the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. Revelations hinted to that time being a very, very important time to the current Brotherhood's state. Also, it would still be a decently good time for blades to be a factor.
Anyone who desont know much about The French Revolution http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Revolution seriously would this not have been the perfect setting?
@Wren28 I agree. At some point I think they will do it. However if you know about the French Revolution (not saying you don't) you'll know the source material is almost made for assassins creed game. I think it would be the best game AC yet. Perhaps ever.
looking forward to this. after revelations i wasn't especially pumped because they've been pumping them out for years without that many improvements between ac ii brotherhood and revelations, but this looks *very* promising can't wait what they have for us after three years of development. @Darth-Ozy the assassin's creed series is developed by ubisoft montreal. also, i think it's been stated that not all americans are assassins and not all british are templars, so it's pretty safe to say it won't be a "mmmmUUUUUURRRICAAAAA, F@$% YEAH" type thing
I have to agree with you Smiling-sam.As an American, Hollywood & TV has really ruined the truth of what actually did happen back then.I however am one of the people that does care about that period in history as well as the history of The Great Crusade, the Spanish Inquisition, the list goes on since I've always been a history nut.But if the game does turn out to be Hollywood style, the game might not be worth buying.
@Altair, they've said that they've been working on this game for the past two (three?) years. Obviously not 'Activision crap'. While I agree they have been pumping them out fairly fast, they've also been making mostly major improvements in between each games release.
Ok, George Washington is, supposedly, fighting a battle in a place he didn't go at a time that the battle wasn't fought. Do we, as gamers, really care? It's a video game. I for one think the developers can smudge whatever* they want as long as the game is playable and enjoyable. Are video games really the best place for us to learn history? I'd say yes, but it's not really the intent of them, they are for our entertainment. *As long as things are 'realistic'
Yup, looks like they are going to go ahead and ruin the games after all. I really wish that ubisoft would wait awhile and work on their games, instead they pull activision crap and throw one out each year....
Weapons we've seen on Connor: Tomahawk, dagger, duel pistols, and bow. Weapons we've seen on others: Rifle, sword, lantern, drum, and bayonet. Things we'd love Connor to be able to use: Pet hawk, hidden blade, good horse combat, What we don't want: Tower defense, bad horse combat, no hidden blade, or an America F*** Yeah Production. Anyone disagree?
awesome and incredible gameplay.... i am getting this when it comes out... but did desmond ever get revenge against that Dr... i remember at the end of assassins creed II he got away and desmond or someone with him said "you will have your revenge.... i want to see that dr. get beat by desmond......
