The main thing I like about the wii u is the different gameplay opportunities the game pad can bring to us, I honestly think there's some potential for this, it's like a DS and a home console had a baby lol, u get the full hd console experience with the unique touch screen motion gameplay of DS/wii. As long as some innovative games come out to take advantage of this, not just gimmicky crap, I guess we'll see

Here's the WiiU Preview Presentation in its entirety.
Ok this looks realllly good, much more easier and accessible to use over Xbox and Sony. Why people like 'erix43' and 'hotmerchandice' think this isn't good is beyond me, considering Nintendo are new to this online content stuff they've got the basics down really well.
I'm PC gamer myself, but this has convinced me to get one of these bad boys!
@blowtar12345I do actually like the hand held screen/controller. I can tell that it will improve/open up control possibilities. I, however do not like the underpowered hardware. The games are also crap. Maybe in a couple of years it may be different, but as of now it is still TRASH!
I''m sorry Nintendo. This will not work... I can see it already.. Even this presentation was boring. Good luck. I miss ole Nintendo. It WILL be the next Sega.
@0m39AX Just because it has a feature which other consoles have doesn't make it a next generation console you idiot, its next generation because of how people interact with the console, how people are connected together through Nintendos new online architecture.
People can bitch and moan about this new console as much as they want, at the end-of-the-day they're not a true gamer, nor can they give fair criticism to each console and their manufacturers.
Alls I'm gunna say it -
Tablet = VERY POPULAR.
Consoles = VERY POPULAR.
Tablet + Console = NEW TO THE MARKET AND HAS BEST OF BOTH WORLS.
@blowtar12345 @0m39AX I bitch and moan about this console and I have been a TRUE HARDCORE GAMER since the 70's. I have owned almost everything ever created related to console gaming. Not to mention all the different computer(s) that I've had including VIC 20,C64, and many desktops/laptops. To say somebody is not a true gamer because they bitch and moan about this console is ridiculous .
@blowtar12345 @0m39AX Tablet + Console = NEW TO THE MARKET AND HAS BEST OF BOTH WORLS. couldnt disagree more
Maybe it's just me--and I'm not saying this to incite flaming--but it seems to me that the Wii U is primarily marketed towards existing Wii owners that never bought a 360 or PS3 this gen. Because honestly, after watching that, it didn't leave me feeling that the Wii U offers anything above or beyond what current 360 or PS3 owners have now. But it definitely holds more features for people that never bought a true HD console.
Those are just my impressions
@Getbacktogaming If using the correct terms, I would guess this is what he meant?
@Scoopser ...which is my point why would they want high speed over regular HDMI if not for 3D? (If any console would aim at 4K I doubt that'd be Nintendo...)
@Getbacktogaming I agree. Well I guess if not for 3D, it may be for the Ethernet functionality? I think that if the TV's got an internet connection, it can share it to e.g. the Wii U through the HDMI cable or vica versa. However I don't really see that much usefulness in that to be perfectly honest.
I'll have to wait until they reduce the price and come out with some good games before I can even consider buying it, because right now I simply don't have the money for a Wii U.
All these users ripping the wii u are terribly narrow minded, you think only of graphics when it comes to next gen but this is such an innovative piece of technology and games such as zombie U which take full advantage of the features and include many new ideas deserve praise for being so bold as to release new ip's and technology in the current financial and gaming climate so obsessed with sequels and prequels etc... So screw you i'm getting this, call me biased because of my love of nintendo but this looks awesome and i cannot wait for the rumoured Wii U HD Zelda 2013 may reveal
@squedington Totally agree. I like all the consoles but I'm a PC gamer, and not all but some people are really thick skulled when thinking of 'next generation' as better graphics.
Nintendo has proven time-and-time again that graphics don't make a game, but how you interact with the game and the quality of the games build.
not interested at all... and it`s sad most developers aren`t even thinkin about releasing ports on wii u for future games due to its complexity...
@angeloti83 Don't know what planet you live on or where you're getting your information from, but from what I've read and seen, many developers really like working with the Nintendo system due to the dev kits simplicity and large amount of dedicated RAM.
@blowtar12345 blowtar12345 well... i got it from here: : http://www.gamespot.com/news/bethesda-has-no-plans-for-wii-u-6394827 also there are news about some other developers that are not planning on making games on wii u (take two?). Do your research please, and i`m sorry.
@blowtar12345 yeah and they also said wii u is rather a complex system to work on, having this argument it`s hard to see new games coming out on wii u, i mean.. most of the games coming out soon won`t have a port on wii u... ( bioshock infinite, gta5, hitman etc) so probably developers will make games on the wii u yes! but it doesn`t seem to happen anytime soon, so if you wanna play games like hitman abs or gta5 first hand better own a different system brother.
@angeloti83 @blowtar12345 This is an article which shows how some game development company's are not catering for the Wii U at this moment in-time, because they don't want to backtrack and spend extra cash on current projects they are already developing for the current HD consoles. So your basing your proof on one interview with someone who isn't even a developer? Ok lol.
Oh read the last one also, because it says "It?s common knowledge that takes a while for developers to get the most out of any video game system".
Developers are no were near optimising games to its full potential for this system as of yet.
And on that note,
I'm sorry...

None of these games look 'next gen' infact they look dated :-/ (except for COD:BOll but that will be available on current systems anyway)
@SilentAssassin +1 having games like dark siders 2 and batman arkham city for launch is something i just can`t understand ,besides that game pad looks huge!, and more like an add on to the current console. (along with hd graphics)
No matter what you think of Nintendo, you've got to admit, Reggie really earns his salary well.
Well done Nintendo. Another terrible conference where the audience seem unimpressed and asked to applause. The majority of the games on display look really childish and cheap. Even the Mario game looks slow and boring. The tablet controller is an abomination of a device. Clunky to hold and looks like a tablet for kids with its fat plastic edges. But wait the system has a Call of Duty game. None other than Black Ops 2. The same Black Ops 2 that will be available for every other system. Pretty much the same game that has been made 4 or 5 times already under the Call of Duty banner.
@dribblesbarbax It was a small press conference / Presentation lmao, what did you expect, flashing lights, women and tits?
It was a room full of reporters and some gamers, this was to be shown online.
@blowtar12345 If you read beyond my first sentence you may find out why I was unimpressed with the conference. If I was 13 year old boy I would've expected more flashing lights and tits of course. But alas I'm in my late 20's and can tell when a conference cant rise an audience's excitement for whatever it is they are demonstrating.
The Wiiu will be just as succesful as the wii because its still centered around casual players but gives us hardcore players the games we have wanted. and this will be more obvious when new ip's come for 360 ps3 and wiiu.
@effendi360 If you think that, then I think you need to sit own on the Internet and seriously look and Nintendos past achievements.
@blowtar12345 I'll think U need to ask nintendo what they belive to acheve, relasing console with less powerfull inside than consoles present on the market and absolutely NOT even one worth attention launch title. On top of that they trying to promote their console with games witch we played already a year ago. Even God has less belivers this days so as nintendo - won't stay on top forever. Would U ever say when for example Mega Drive was on the market that one day Sega will lose console battle ? I don't think so...
Not really seeing anything that interests me that I can't already get from other consoles. A stark contrast to the Wii which was a "must have" when I saw its presentation. It will come down to how well the features are supported, and as we saw with the Wii, they often weren't used properly at all by 3rd party games, and 1st party games were few and far between.
As for saying "COD is the full package"... yeah, for about a year, then again the Wii U will become the turkey no one bothers to port AAA games to. If the Wii didnt get proper support with its huge userbase, this thing definitely wont. Can it survive as the casual gaming console of choice again? Not with that price tag and current xbox/ps becoming dirt cheap.
That's because the user base of the Wii didn't bother to support most 3rd party games, that could easily change with the Wii U. If you check GameStop.com, they already sold out on Wii U Deluxe preorders (the one hardcore gamers are more likely going to get) and it's only been the 3rd day since this announcement.
360/PS3 becoming dirt cheap? The PS3 still sells at $250, how is that dirt cheap compared to the Wii U's $300 price tag?
i have to admit though the wii u looks impressive, if a little late coming to the show.
More impressive than their e3 presentation... I think their PR department needs fresh blood.
I remember precisely that in E3 Nintendo mentioned that they will include 2 Wii U controllers. Or i got my facts wrong !!
All in all it was a pretty good presentation. I wish they gave us a teaser of some 1st party games but that only gets me excited of what's to come for E3 2013.
