Assassin's Creed 3 is by far my favorite of the franchise. Not only am I a huge history buff and the Revolutionary War era is one of my favorites, but the story and the gameplay is are near perfect.
Let's start with the gameplay. The campaign takes place in Colonial America (Boston, New York, and the Frontier) which means more gunplay than the last installments. At first I didn't know how this was going to tie into sneaking around and slitting throats, but I didn't even feel that compelled to use guns. Not because they were done wrong but because they tied it into the gameplay so well that I just remained attached to my hidden blade. Running from building to building, climbing up walls, hiding in haystacks and wells and such is so fluid. The lighting is impoved upon from the last game. The addition of running assassinations and picking up weapons on the run make combat much more fluid and fun. Overall I enjoyed every bit of the gameplay. Getting to actually play as Desmond more this time around was really fun, especially sneaking around a stadium full of people.
Moving on to the story, as I stated above I'm a huge fan of the Revolutionary War era. Getting to take part in the Boston Tea Party, The Boston Massacre, hanging out with Paul Revere, Sam Adams and George Washington, it's all so nostalgic. The story of the Revolution and the Assassin's vs Templars fit very well together, especially the protagonists relationship with the antagonist (trying not to spoil the story). The ending will leave you on the edge of your seat!
Overall I suggest Assassin's Creed 3 for any fan of the franchise and for anyone into the stealth genre.

Why do they keep changing the controls, and keep adding impossible mini games?
