This setting deserved a better story.

I was hoping due to the setting of early America that this game would have a pretty good story. The story was not bad, but I thought it could have been better. It was really cool to see all the historical people and places along with Conner, but the story seemed a little to focused on Revenge. Yes Ezio was all about revenge in Assassin's Creed 2, but the game still told a good story that involved more. The present day story though I really liked. It had some different locations and seemed to play a bigger role. As for the first civilization it plays a part through out the present story line and a little in the past story line before the end.

Game play is still the same with some new things such as Navy battles which are really fun, hunting, and things like grabbing someone to use as cover before a firing squad tries to shoot you. This game was better then Revelations and was easier to want to play as well. I know Assassin's Creed has always been about the scenery over story, so in this case take that to heart when you go into this game. Like I said the past story is better then Revelations, but just go into this with the idea you are getting to get to play an Assassin's Creed game during the American Revolution.

Also something to note is this game can take a while to get going. For the first few acts you play as Haythem which isn't too bad as he is kind of interesting and you do learn something interesting, but then you have to play as Connor as a child and teen which take too long. You actually don't get to play as Connor in the Assassin suit until sequence 6. To me that is the games weakest point.
