Assassin's Creed 3 met most of my expectations.

Being a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed series I was really pumped and excited to find out the announcement of a revolutionary war based assassin that is set during the Civil War. Now me being the freedom loving American that I am was instantly drawn to the game along with me being an already huge Assassin's Creed fan, so you can bet I pre ordered that sucker as soon as it was announced! When the game released on October 30th I was at the midnight premiere with another assassin loving guy like me, first in line anticipating the game and thinking of how it can be. How would the hunting be and how would the combat system work, would the controls be the same, what would the Homestead be like, and so forth. When the time came at around 12:30 I entered my Uplay code and instantly played the story mode. The beginning was not expected by me at all and I was actually a bit saddened that *spoiler alert* you don't start the game as the main character Connor. That was a big downer for me to have to wait a couple of sequences to start playing as Connor but, it did add a lot of depth to the story. As far as the story goes it was very well told and very entertaining and would keep you racing for the mission checkpoints to play the story and find out what happens next and how it all plays out. Before I forget, yes you still play as Desmond Miles and it may actually be the best Assassin's Creed Desmond storyline so far. You get to fight Templars and be stealthy and do more with Desmond then all the other games. The story through and through was very well performed and very intriguing and captivating.
Now to get to the actual dynamics of the gameplay! Some controls are different and take a very little amount effort to get into rythym with them. The combat system is so simple and so fluid that it makes fighting millions of Templars easily and go without a hitch, in fact I love how easy it is to combo kill that I pick fights whenever I can. When you get yourself into tons of trouble, you guessed it you have to clear your notoriety, and how you may ask? Well its just the same as other AC games with another way to clear up all your notoriety and that is the print shop. I think it should be pretty self explanatory so I won't go into detail. I'm going to make a quick jump to the economic and currency system. Now like I said before their is indeed a homestead and when you get everyone that is supposed to be on it by doing homestead missions, it looks like a regular town. The currency in AC3 is easy to obtain by hunting animals and skinning them. What you do after that is simply take the pelts you have gathered up and sell them to make a profit. This review is getting pretty long for my tastes and I havent even touched on most things but I do assure you that this game is worth the money and has a high replay value.
