So... Uhh... What am I doing? (Lots of questions)

Okay, so I've beaten the game.... Not once throughout the entire game have I figured out how to recruit assassins or make any money.
I have only one assassin.
Next to no money.
And I don't understand it.... They changed so much in this game and choose to explain none of it.
And what's with the overpowered enemies? Most of these guys become blade fodder but there are a couple that block every attack, every counter, every attempt at disarming or breaking defence... What gives? I'm left with no choice but to shoot them, and when I've got three or more in a group I have no choice but to run.

Not to mention the sync objectives... Are some of these even possible? How can I throw people into the water when there's literally no button to grab and throw people anymore? Along with MANY others I don't understand.
And why don't liberation missions (or any side missions) get anything on the map?
I accept a mission and I have no idea where I'm supposed to go.
Assassination missions and the destination for them use the SAME icon.
Liberation missions? Also the same thing.

Are the random events from revelations gone as well? And what about hunting? It's so irksome I don't even want to do it.
There aren't any map markers to keep track of snares so I barely even use those.
And animals are so few it's not even worth it... I mean, sure it makes it more realistic, but I'm not particularly ever in the mood for hunting for an hour with barely any pay-out.

And dear god... Why do we still get forced to deal with hats and hoods? We've asked for a toggle on them for just about every game so far and get nothing.
I absolutely LOVE all of the outfits in this game... But the hats just ruin them all.
Every.
Single.
One.

I even went as far as buying the deluxe edition, and I still don't really understand anything or get to enjoy the game.
The story feels so linear and forced it's just unbearable... Ugh, so many issues with this game.
It feels like there were too many good ideas and not enough time spent actually working them all out.

And I leave with one last question: Why do guards keep attacking me when I'm incognito and just running? Not doing anything illegal, just running to my goal, and next thing you know... I'm being shot at.

Well, technically I have more questions but I can't think of the rest at the moment.

let me try to awnser

After you finished all the liberation missions in a part of town you get a recruitment mission with your local liberation contact.

I havent had trouble with money, but you get money from missions, you can sell the stuff you get from hunting. and using homestead tocreate things using recipe's and resell them through convoy's. I dont use it so you might want to look up what recipe gets you the best profit.

Most of these guys become blade fodder but there are a couple that block every attack, every counter, every attempt at disarming or breaking defence... What gives?

for some of the heavy guys you'll have to use (X on ps3) after a counter. so instead of pressing square and then again square you have to press square and then X. or just spam them with X cause it makes them lose balance and evantually fall down.

Not to mention the sync objectives... Are some of these even possible? How can I throw people into the water when there's literally no button to grab and throw people anymore?

the only way to "grab"someone in ac3 is again after a counter but then you press cirlce which kinda pushes the enemy away so you need to make sure they got their back to the ledge or the water.

I accept a mission and I have no idea where I'm supposed to go.

This is a glitch that allot of poeple have. the missions are there but the icons wont appear on the map so you will have to run around looking for it. my advice is make sure you have subtitles on. Cause since its a mission youll see the subtitles pop up when the sidequest is close enough.

And I leave with one last question: Why do guards keep attacking me when I'm incognito and just running? Not doing anything illegal, just running to my goal, and next thing you know... I'm being shot at.

If your incognito you wont be attacked unless your running in to guards or climbing the roof. in the Frontier your always on tier 1 alert so you'll always attract attention.

i hope that helps :)

I can elaborate further on this, in some area's in boston and new york there will be area's that gaurds will be protecting they wont have the highlighted red area on the minimap and if you get to close they will go after you, usually they are guarding treasure chests or pegleg trinkets. you can usually see 2 gaurds standing in front of a gate or a door and that means that you have to be on the other side of the road or else they will attack, its really stupid but I consider it a glitch of sorts.

on making money the way I found the easiest is to send assassin recruits on missions (not sure what is is on ps3) but you would open the assassin menu (left shoulder button) hit X then select a area to send your recruit also you will have to select the assassin to see the percent of success. considering you can only use assassins in towns and not even in the frontier they can make quite a bit.

I agree with not knowing what to do... This game has horrible directions.

I can't get into this game at all.  Most of the optional objectives are horribly awkward and I usually have no idea what I am supposed to do.   Like when you are supposd to blow up the wagons......First one, no problem.  Second one,  I can't get the gun to raise up at all.  Third?  Only when I am right next to it.  If I slow down at all I lose the guy.

Wrecked the game for me.  I went back to playing Dishonored.
