I don't know awhole lot about the civil war, and I'd like to get a basic knowledge before I start this game.

I need a civil war movie that includes the most important characters/generals from the war.

    Thank you very much!

also i'd just like to add that i'm very impressed by this game and it gets better and better! almost too good to be true. can't wait to play this online on PC with highest graphics!!!!!!!!!!!!

Revolutionary war is the setting, not Civil War.

On that note, The Patriot might work. Mel Gibson movie, he carries a tomahawk through out the movie.

Thank you very much. Trailer looks great, getting this and Gettysburg in 1080p.

It's too bad that mel gibson is starring in The Patriot (though I loved him in signs), he's gonna kind of ruin the whole expirience for me since he's a racist bastard and I'm jewish. but I liked Roland Emmerich's movies and Heath Ledger is a legend.

    Thanks a bunch!

Check out Saving Private Ryan. Or The Hurt Locker. Both great movies that will really bring the War of 1812 to life for you.

Or you could try, you know, reading a book. I wouldn't think you could learn very much from a 2 hour movie...

Here I have a blog about books

Is only 2 films I can think of, that are base around the * American Revolution * era.

One is * The Patriot * but is a bit fictional and not accurate History.

The other one is * The Crossing * and this one I do recommend you to watch, as for is a lot more accurate with History.

Best Civil War movie? Cromwell (1970), starring Richard Harris...

PS: If you want something relevant to AC3 then John Adams (TV series) is a must-watch.

Civil war would have been the most amazing setting ever. But, I kinda have an obsession with Confederate History
