This isn't just a marketing scheme - this is Ubisoft buying out the production studio (or maybe just the special effects powerhouse "Hybride") behind 300 and Watchmen and using their resources to get creative. I see nothing wrong with it. They got plenty of dollars to play around with.

i hope they made this as a movie too

And its a pretty good SHORT MOVIE! ok its not the game tho it just tells what Ezios father did its pretty good but the beggining of the 1st part is kinda rusty and since its a SHORT MOVIE they didnt have much of a budget so the backround isnt that good but looks alright

The place where this fails in comparison to the old Halo 3 shorts is the lack of Neill Blomkamp directing.

this is what happens when you try to copy the epic live action marketing of halo III & ODST. this is just wrong and therfore it fails

This is a trailer for a series of short films that are going to be the back story to ACII. So technically it is a trailer for the game, but its just showing you what the live action shorts will be like.

For the record, it IS a movie, not a promo, and they actually announced it a VERY long time ago. I think it was at the same press conference that they released that first big chunk of gameplay footage.

@ couchtater12345 What are you talking about? They never talked about an Assassins Creed 2 movie and they didnt even release the first movie yet. Besides this is just a short to promote this game, i mean they did the same thing with Halo 3 and its expansion and i dont see a movie out of that (they were really good though).

I pray they just CG this. because most of the time live action game movies tend to be B-rate, al though if they pull it off it would be awesome.

I recognize some of the actors... they are well known in Quebec. I think I recognize Emmanuel Bilodeau, and I forgot the name of the actor who plays the Duke of Milan.
