Huge step up from original AC, but needs more mission variety.

Assassin' Creed II is a major step up from the original Assassin's Creed. You play as Ezio, a badass assassin from Venice in the late 1400's and really early 1500's. You go on missions that involve trailing a man, and than killing him when no one is around, and other missions where you are just flat out killing everything in sight. Although this sounds amazing, and it is, but mission variety is a big problem in this game. However, it isn't nearly as bad as the original Assassin's Creed, where all the missions were pretty much, "Find a guy, follow the guy, kill the guy". Assassin's Creed II has a truly incapacitating story, and the environment of Venice was extremely immersive. Despite it's lackluster mission variety, I found that this game has enough extra objectives and bonus material to pull through it.

All in all, Assassin's Creed II was an excellent game, and even Brotherhood was only a small step up from it.
