Love the series HATE to do it but somtimes simple is better. Great Multiplayer at least, main story kept losing me.

Can I just begin by saying how much I loved the first 2 game in the franchise, I mean yes I wish the Flag and Feather quests weren't made so impossible but I still loved those games. This game just lost me. Since your given the option to choose which DNA quest sometimes the story gets mixed and your introduced to characters you really don't know much if anything about. I mean the Creed series has always been known for its abondance in intel but this game just adds on that to the point where you really don't gain much of a connection with people or places for that matter. As for the local typical Italian city not really any different from Assassins Creed 2. The city is decent sized; but can not wait for a change of scenery, would really like something drastic like Mongolian/ Tibetan temples in a snowy setting. Another strange and annoying thing is that in order to purchase from vendors not only do you need to chase/ kill captains, burn towers, gather enough coin, but you also have to upgrade the stands. As if that were crazy enough certain weapons can only be bought by optaining certain goods you gather throughout the city, have trouble finding 1 and you'll never unlock that item. Yes your able to ride horses as you please even have the ability similar to Red Dead to call your horse with a wishle but horses don't navigate so well climbing up walls. I won't even get into the difficulty of the "hired help" aspect of the game I honestly tried to avoid that.

Look I'm all for evolution and updating classics but when you mess with Masterpiece's like Assassins Creed 1 & 2 its just wrong. Sometimes simple and light is just the way to go. Changing too many things can actually back fire as was the case with this game. Yes it builds on Enzios story and yes the Multiplayer is worth buying the game alone, and I mean that INCREDIBLE. Were I rating it the game soley on Multiplayer it would be worthy of a 9.0. However I can not justifinly give this game, as a whole, anything better then 7.5 and it hurts me doing so. Given I haven't completed the game but the simple fact that I almost don't want to should be judgment enough of how I feel about this game. My love for the franchise and the Multiplayer is what really saved the game from an even worse grade.
