Though there isn't much difference between Assassin's Creed II and this, Brotherhood is still a game worth playing.

User Rating: 8.5 | Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood PC
I've been a fan of the Assassin's Creed series since the first one. The open world and free running mechanics totally blew me away. And then with Assassin's Creed II, I thought Ubisoft made the series even better with the purchasable armor and weapons, the Italian setting, and the Dan Brown-esque story. Brotherhood expands the Assassin's Creed series and adds a lot of new things to it.

Story: The story takes place right after the ending of AC2. You control Ezio Auditore once again as he rebuilds the Assassin Brotherhood and fights again the Borgia. The story was a disappointment. It lacked the emotion of it's predecessor. I finished the story mode in 17/18 hours. Other than the main plot, there are many other side-quests. There are flashbacks about Ezio's former lover, Templar assassination missions, and destroying some war machines created by Leonardo Da Vinci. You can also send your recruits to finish quests abroad.

Graphics: The visuals of Brotherhood are a bit better than AC2. The characters' faces have been improved and the their clothes look more realistic. The animations are really good and there are some gruesome executions that'll make you cringe.

Gameplay: The gameplay is the same as the other games in the series. You can roam around freely around Rome. Though you can't travel to different cities, Rome is big enough to compensate for that. The crossbow is a great new addition. It's extremely useful in stealth missions and is a one hit kill (unless there's a heavily armored guard). The execution streaks let you kill a whole platoon of troops in a minute. You can also break people's defenses by kicking them. Halfway through the game, you can recruit citizens to you Assassin's guild. Sending them to do missions and calling them to your aid gains them experience points. When they level up, you can spend points to upgrade their armor or weapons. You can also destroy towers owned by the Borgia and then renovate the shops in that area. But before you can destroy a tower, you must killed the captain of that area. Renovating shops increases your monthly income which you can collect from banks. If you're used to the control system of AC2, then you're going to be comfortable with Brotherhood. The A.I. is pretty stupid though. Enemy troops just stand by and watch their fellow comrades get mauled by my hidden blade. Overall, the gameplay is the same as AC2.

Overall: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is another fine addition to the series. Though brought down by a forgettable story and stupid AI, Brotherhood still manages to shine. It's a must buy if you are an Assassin's Creed fan or if you are a gamer who likes a good action adventure experience, be sure to check this out.
