Brotherhood is a step in the right direction in terms of combat, and free roaming action. The story stumbles, however.

AC Brotherhood appeared to be a quick cash in when I first heard about it. It's safe to say that it isn't. I'm going to keep the review completely spoiler free. Just know that it does, in fact, advance the plot of Desmond. So if you skip brotherhood, you won't know what is going on in the next installment. The combat has seen a nice overhaul. There are a ton of weapons, and they have added the ability to carry the heavy swords/ax. My favorite addition is the crossbow, because I was expecting it to be in the original. I have heard people complain that it is too strong of a weapon, and they might be right. Luckily, you don't have to buy it. Borgia towers have all but replaced the viewpoints, making filling out your map twice as much fun as it used to be. The brotherhood that you run is a mixed bag, but again, if you don't like it you don't have to use it. You can play this your own way. If you use all the tricks at your disposal, it can be very easy. If you refrain from using them, it can much more difficult (but still pretty easy). The multiplayer is a beast all it's own, and there really isn't any other game that you can compare it to. I usually don't like online multiplayer games, but I am a fan of this one. It's not going to hold your attention for hours on end, and is much better in short bursts. Working a quick session in before playing single player is a nice compliment to the action. All in all, this a great game well worth the price tag. It's easy to recommend.
