Zoo Tycoon: Marine Mania announced

Microsoft announces a second expansion pack for its popular strategy game.

Microsoft has announced that it will release a second expansion pack for Zoo Tycoon in October. Marine Mania, like the Dinosaur Digs expansion pack before it, will add new creatures, objects, guest attractions, and scenarios to Zoo Tycoon.

Marine Mania will allow players to expand their existing zoos through the introduction of 20 new species including sea otters, dolphins, octopuses, giant squid, and even great white sharks. To enhance the marine exhibits, the expansion also includes 21 species of underwater organisms, five new animal toys, and sunken treasure. Players will also be able to keep their zoo's visitors coming back for more by building customizable attractions including a shark tunnel, a dolphin show, and a dolphin ride.

"Playing computer games is a great way for parents to stay connected with their kids," said Chuck Frizelle, product manager at Microsoft Game Studios. "Zoo Tycoon: Marine Mania continues the family fun of the Zoo Tycoon franchise, stimulating creativity and encouraging players of all ages and skill levels to build and manage the ultimate zoo."

Zoo Tycoon, which was released in October last year, is a building and management game that challenges players to develop and maintain--preferably at a profit--their own zoo. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
