The Babbage's Cyberathelete Professional League Tournament hosted more than 1,500 gamers from around the world this past weekend, and the top prize went to John Hill, also known as Zero4, who took home US$25,000. Hill defeated second place Oskar Lungstrom, or Lakerman, of Sweden, as well as Jonathan Wendel, the world champion Quake III Arena player known as Fatality, who ended up in seventh place. The competition took place in Dallas, and it featured cash prizes totaling $120,000 and other prizes including computer hardware and software. According to Babbage's and the CPL, the event was the largest professional computer gaming tournament ever held in North America.
