Bethesda parent company Zenimax is seeking to trademark "Starfield." On March 22 (via Society & Religion), the publisher filed a trademark application with the United States Patent & Trademark Organization covering games for consoles and PC, as well as downloadable content.

Zenimax's trademark application for Starfield covers the following:

Entertainment services, namely, providing online interactive computer games; entertainment services, namely, providing information relating to electronic computer games via the Internet.

Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the Internet and wireless devices; computer game software for use with online interactive games.

A Bethesda representative declined to comment.

Bethesda's newest development team, the Austin, Texas-based Battlecry Studios, is currently working on a new free-to-play game that aims to "redefine" the free-to-play sector. This game has not been announced.

GameSpot parent company CBS CEO Les Moonves is a member of the Zenimax Media Board of Directors.

Everyone is hard to believe if it is an April's Fool day or not.  I doubt this is a joke post.

I guess we will see what happens. I don't really know the significance of this article, though. I'm bound to forget the name of this game, why post so early?

If you rearrange the letters it reads "Fartslide." A clue?

Free-to-play means MMO.  Just say no to MMO.

Zenimax is worst than EA (even if it is a joke)

Fallout MMO, maybe? Or maybe some new form of DRM.

So never trust a Bethesda game review then?

Has anyone else realized that the picture at the bottom of this articles and the one below it on the homepage that's talking about "Destiny of Spirits" is done in the exact same font, black lettering, and white background?

Seriously, guys, do something a bit more clever

As long as the main Bethesda team is working on Fallout 4, I could care less about the other random stuff their associates create.

I really can't take anything seriously today. If this is still here tomorrow without an edit in the beginning of the write-up, I'll read it.

@vadagar1 If Eddie didn't constantly post vague rumours and speculation as news I'd agree with you.

@slayerSS-3 @alpha_unit97 Are you daft? EA is the worst company out there in existance, Activision comes VERY close second, Zenimax isn't even close to the list of bad companies.  Far as I'm concerned they make nothing but awesome games, Morrowind, Fall out 3, Skyrim, Oblivion.  Think what you want.  Your opinion stinks.
