Zen Pinball hits 3DS next week

Zen Studios' pinball game arriving in eShop for Nintendo's latest handheld on January 12 for $7; four tables included, DLC planned.

by

Already available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, iOS, and Android devices, Zen Studios is bringing its fast-paced pinball franchise to an entirely new dimension next week.

The PS3 version of the Excalibur table.

Zen Pinball 3D--originally slated to arrive last fall--will make its debut in the eShop for the Nintendo 3DS on January 12 priced at $7. For that entry fee, gamers will get four themed tables: Earth Defense, Shaman, Excalibur, and El Dorado. In addition to the expected added visual dimension, Zen Pinball 3D sports multiplayer functionality, online leaderboards, multiple viewpoints, and table-specific missions.

As with the other iterations of Zen Pinball, developer Zen Studios will support Zen Pinball 3D after its launch. Unfortunately, no mention was made as to when players can expect it or how much they will pay for it.

Zen Pinball 3D may be the first pinball title from Zen Studios to arrive on the 3DS, but it won't be the last. At Comic-Con 2011, Marvel revealed that Marvel Pinball was headed to a number of new platforms, including the 3DS.

It has been out in Europe for a while. My oponion of it in short: Ball physics: Brilliant Camera: Good Tables: Shaman is horrible, Eldorado is boring, Space Invasion is pretty good while Excalibour is great and the game is worth getting for that table alone.

I got ads popping from nowhere on my tablet since I installed that crap.

Even though I have Zen Pinball and Pinball FX 1 & 2 I'll probably get this. I just hope 3DS owners who don't have them or haven't played them realize that $7 for four tables is actually a good deal considering the same costs $10 on PSN or 360.

Zen puts a ridiculous amount of love and detail into their tables. $7 is a steal for this level of digital craftsmanship.

To be completely honest the 3DS is surprising me lately. That little thing has seriously picked up steam. Good to see it getting lots of games :)

When I get a 3DS eventually, this will be the first game I purchase for it. I love Zen Studios pinball games.

just going to wait until the Marvel tables show up. that way I can waste all of my money on nostalgia at the same time! It sucks that I have to go to a bar or Chuck E Cheese (SHOWBIZ PIZZA!!!!) to find a pinball machine.

For $7 that's a pretty good deal. I still like Pinball FX 2 on Xbox 360, but I'll probably get this if I remember to.

So with El Dorado and Shaman no longer being PS3-exclusive, any chance we'll get to see them on 360 sometime?

@SolidTy Well it's going to be $7, so I don't know about you, but that's pretty cheap to me. I'm totally going to download this game.

This is the type of e-shop game I've been waiting for! All I want now are the demos (and SOON!) and Rolling Western...
