Zelda: Breath of the Wild Takes Top Award at Gamescom

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the "Best of Gamescom" for 2016.

The Gamescom awards have been announced, and some of the games to receive top honors include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, For Honor, and Sea of Thieves.

For Honor claimed the Best PlayStation 4 Game award, while Sea of Thieves claimed honors for Best Xbox One Game. The next Zelda game took awards for both Best Wii U Game and best game overall. Battlefield 1 took Best Action Game, Forza Horizon 3 claimed Best Racing Game, and Final Fantasy XV won Best Role-Playing Game. Little Nightmares received the indie award, and it might be the best thing we saw at Gamescom.

Award winners were decided on by an "international expert jury," which selected 73 nominations from more than 200 entries in total. Winners were then picked from those nominees and announced at an award ceremony on August 19.
