Zelda: Breath of the Wild Doesn't Require the Wii U's GamePad

If you'd prefer to use something smaller, you won't be forced to use the Wii U GamePad when playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

During a roundtable attended by GameSpot, producer Eiji Aonuma confirmed that Breath of the Wild can be played with the more traditional Wii U Pro Controller.

This perhaps shouldn't come as a surprise considering Breath of the Wild is also coming to NX, which may not have a Wii U-style tablet controller. If that is the case, it would make it a challenge to integrate essential functionality into the GamePad controls on Wii U.
