Konami of Europe has today confirmed that Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2004, which is scheduled to arrive in North American stores next week, will be released in Europe on March 26. The game is the sequel to Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel and boasts a total of more than 1,000 cards, including more than 100 that are brand new, and four new CPU-controlled characters for players to compete against.

The most intriguing feature of the game is its text translation facility, which will allow players from Japan, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, North America, and the UK to compete against each other without having to overcome language barriers. The translation facility will really come into its own later this year when Konami announces details of its Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship, the finals of which are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles.

We'll bring you more information on Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2004 as soon as it becomes available.
