Konami of America has today announced that it has started shipping copies of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses for the PlayStation 2 to stores in North America. The game is the first in the TV-series-inspired Yu-Gi-Oh! series to be released for a current-generation game console, and as such it features the most detailed visuals in the series to date.

The Duelists of the Roses is also the first game in the Yu-Gi-Oh! series to incorporate the new 3D card movement battle system, which allows players to take control of more than 600 different monsters and create more advanced strategies than in any previous game in the series.

In Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses, players choose sides in Europe's War of the Roses and then attempt to capture the enemy's coveted rose cards, which hold the secret to unlimited magical power. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
